In this Episode, I'll be showing How to Use Tags in  Mavericks To
Organize Your Contents.

Soooooooo, Let's Get Started

Mavericks has made it much easier to organize your contents with Tags.
By assigning Tags with Colors and Labels to your Files, you are able to search for your items much quicker and easier like never before.

Now For A Quick DEMO...
1. Tag as you work...when saving a new file and after entering a name, you have the option to Tag the file as shown here. I'll just choose Research, a Tag that I have already created before. After saving the Document and launching Finder, you will notice from the Finder Sidebar the Research Tag contains the Document just Tagged.

2. You can also Assign Multiple Tags to the same file: in the Tag area, choose another Tag from your Tag Collections. We'll just go ahead and choose MacStudioA and once again after pressing enter you will see your Tagged file in the Research and MacStudioA Tags.

3. You can also create a custom Tag that is not currently in your Tags collection, just type the new Tag name here, I'll just name the new Tag "For Approval" and after pressing the Enter key you will see that the new Tag has been created in the Finder Sidebar, as you can see the Document just saved has the following Tags assigned to it...Research, MacStudioA and For Approval Tags list.

4. To Add or Remove a Tag on a File, click on the File in Finder and press the Tag button here...now we'll just Remove the Following Tag and also add Another one.

5. You can also assign Tags to multiple files as shown here, in the Clipart Folder I'll just select a few files and press the Tag Button and select a Tag or multiple tags for the files.
(Choose a documents and in into Clipart Folder and select thumbs and
peace files all at once and click on the Tags Button and select
MacStudioA Tag)

6. Tags can also be assigned automatically by Dragging files in the Tag area of the Finder Sidebar or to an open Tag Window in Finder. (drag file to the sidebar BUT Don't Release...then hover on Tags and
Finally drop in current opened Tag window)

7. Tags can also be Renamed, By pressing Control+Click on a Tag in the Finder Sidebar and choose the Tag to Re-name.

8. And Finally, Tags are great for Searching,  let's just Navigate to "All My Files" and let's say we wish to Search for any Files that have the following Tag criteria ....MacStudioA...Research and Publish...As you can see the File has been located. (go to All Files to perform this...then Search for files that are say in... MacStudioA, Project Pics and For Approval)

And that's all there is to it, working with Tags couldn't be more simple.
