OS X Yosemite Amazing Markup Feature In Mail

June 8, 2014

Demo video of the Markup Tool in Mail, coming this fall in Apples all new operating system, OS X Yosemite and available for free. The Mail Mark up feature allows for annotations of images and PDF documents right within Mail.

TRANSCRIPT:

In this episode: OS X Yosemite Amazing Markup Feature in Mail.
Markup is Mails’s new built-in editor for image and pdf attachments.

Instead of trying to explain Yosemite's new Markup Tool in Mail, I think its best explained with a demo.

Sooooo, Let’s Get Started.

I’ll just launch Mail and attach a pdf form that requires a signature. Once attached, you can open the pdf form and press the Markup Tool here, to fill-in or insert a signature.

Either add a signature by signing with your fingers on a Trackpad or capture it using your camera on your Mac. Once your signature is captured, all that’s left to do is insert it on the form. Previously, this had to be done using Preview.

Not only can you can you edit pdf documents in Mail, but you can also edit an image with shapes, callouts, text, loupe magnifier and a really cool feature, being able to draw on an image using mouse or Trackpad and Markup is able to interpret the shape, right within Mail, as shown here.

With Markup, you can edit attached images and pdf documents seamlessly in one place without having to leave Mall.

Please Bare in mind, Mail’s Markup feature is still in Beta and hence a bit buggy, especially with the Trackpad signature option, but all in all, it’s going to be a welcome and invaluable addition when OS X Yosemite is released for free this fall.

And that’s it.

Thanks for watching and thumbs-up if you liked this video, and please, don't forget to subscribe to be notified of the next episode.

Thanks and Peace.
