In this quick episode, How To Increase Dock Icon Magnification To Very Large.

Let’s jump straight in with the demo.

Soooooo, Let’s Get Started.

Changing the Dock icon Magnification when hovering over them, to very large, is a simple process.

Simply Open System Presences and click on the Dock icon. Now add a check mark next to the magnification box and move the magnification slider to maximum.

As you can see, setting to the maximum magnification, only resizes the the Dock icons so far, about 128 pixels square, when hovering over them.

To set to a maximum hovering magnification of 512 pixels square, involves entering two simple one line commands in Terminal.

How To Increase Dock Icon Magnification To Very Large in OS X
Therefore; open Terminal and enter the following two one line commands:

Line 1: defaults write com.apple.dock largesize -int 512

Followed by the following, to relaunch the Dock:

Line 2: killall Dock

And voilĂ , very large Dock icons.

To revert to the default, simply open System Presences and slightly slide the magnification slider in the left direction.

And that’s all there is to it.
