In this episode, 5 Useful Mac OS X Tips and Tricks.

Straight to the demo's…Soooooo, Let's Get Started. And in no particular order…

Number 1: Duplicate Folders that ends in numbers or dates to ascend automatically.

Here are several folders that ends in numbers and dates. To duplicate the folders up to the next increment or year, simply hold down the option key while you click and drag on a folder as shown.

I’ll just select several folders at once and again, while holding down the option key, just click and drag the folders and you will notice all folders have ascended in value by one cement.

Number 2: Hide Icons In System Preferences.

If you share your Mac, you might want to have certain System Preferences Icons not shown.

To do so, launch System Preferences and from the System Preferences menubar, select View then Customize.

Now simply check which icons you don’t wish to appear from preying eyes. To set it back to normal just repeat the procedure and re-check the icons you want to re-appear.

Number 3: Turn On Do Not Disturb instantly.

If you find that you don’t want to be bothered with those Notification Center Bubbles for a while, instantly turn On Do Not Disturb, by holding-down the Option key and click on the Notification Icon shown here.

Once activated, Do Not Disturb stays on for 24-hours, unless you turn it Off.

Number 4: Minimize Application Windows into Their Own Application Icons.

Basically; if you find that you are running out of space on the dock when minimizing your application windows, a simply trick is to minimize the application windows in its own application icon.

To do so, launch System Preferences, then click on the Dock icon and then select the box that says “Minimize windows into application icon. You will now notice that, when minimizing application windows, they minimize in their own application icons.

And finally; number 5: Increase the size of the cursor.

There may be many reasons why you may want to have a bigger cursor, like for presentation purposes.

To do so, simply launch System Preferences and click the Accessibility Icon, and if not already selected, click the Display icon in the left column.

Now simply drag the Cursor Size slider to the right to increase the normal cursor size, when satisfied, close the Accessibility window.
