10 Cool Mac Keyboard Shortcuts - Series 2

In this Episode: 10 Cool Mac Keyboard Shortcuts - Series 2. If you have been following along, welcome back for Series 2 of 10 Cool Mac Keyboard Shortcuts.

TRANSCRIPT:

So…Let’s Get Started

And in no particular order,
Number 1: Show or Hide Mission Control by pressing:

  ctrl + Up Arrow key and of course you could just press F3

Hovering over the windows with the mouse cursor and pressing the spacebar gives you a closer look, click to open on the Desktop.

Number 2: Move Left or Right to the next Space or Desktop by pressing:

   ctrl+ Left or Right Arrow

Number 3: Move Dock to Left, Right And Center ( bottom ) by holding down the Shift Key while dragging the Dock Divider shown.

Number 4: Hide All Open Applications on the Desktop except the one clicked on from the Dock by pressing:

cmd + opt + left mouse click

Number 5: Show or Hide the Dock by pressing:

cmd + opt + D

Number 6: Get Info…click on any icons and press:
 
cmd + I for additional information.

Number 7:  Show Inspector, click on any icons and press:

cmd + opt + i to open a live active Window.

Unlike the Get Info command just shown on Number 6, where you need to click and press cmd + i each time, this command opens one window and you only need to press cmd + opt + i just once then simply click on the icons you want additional info for.

Number 8:  Cycle through Groups of App Windows by pressing:

Cmd + ~ (Tilde Rhymes with Hilda..Tilda)

Number 9: Close Current Window by pressing:

cmd + W

And finally,

Number 10: Believe it or not, but this Desktop is well organized. I have several Maps, Browsers and Finder Windows currently Open, and am able to Jump to each Window by pressing:

ctrl + Down Arrow or ctrl + F3 Which Turns On/Off App Exposé

You can now press Tab to cycle forward or shift + Tab to cycle backward to each individual App Groups. For a closer Look, hover over the Windows with the mouse cursor, you should see a dark blue rectangle around the window, then press the spacebar for a closer preview or click on window to open on Desktop.
